Some of the more difficult parts of the Iron Mountain trail



Iron Mountain is one of my favorite hikes in San Diego. I created this page to show case some pictures and give some general information and details about the hike.

Iron Mountain is very easy to get to.
Trailhead Location:
Trail head is located on Highway 67 and Poway Road. On the east side of the road. There is a small gravel parking area on the side of the highway. Most cars park on the side of the road.
Coming from the 125:
Take the 125 North
8 East
Take CA 67 about 9 miles just short of Poway Road.
Coming from the 15:
I-15 N to Scripps Poway Pkwy.
turn R and drive 9 mi.
Turn L onto CA 67.
Park 2 mi. later at trailhead just S of County Hwy S4/Poway Rd.

It starts from the side of the road on the 67 and heads East.
